Indian Air Force IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 Recruitment 2026 – Complete Details
Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the official notification for Agnipath Vayu Agniveer Intake 02/2027 Recruitment 2026. The Agnipath Scheme is a transformative military recruitment initiative launched by the Government of India in 2022 to induct young patriotic Indians into the Armed Forces for a short-term service period of 4 years under the Agniveer model.
Under the Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027, young candidates aged between 17.5 to 22 years (born between 01 July 2005 to 01 January 2010) can apply online from 06 July 2026 to 26 July 2026. The Stage I Online Examination is scheduled for 22-23 September 2026. The intake covers two broad eligibility categories — Science Subjects (PCM + English) and Other Than Science Subjects (10+2 in any stream) — with multiple sub-eligibility paths including 10+2, Diploma in Engineering, and Vocational courses.
Selected Agniveers will be inducted into the Indian Air Force, receive structured training, serve for 4 years, and on completion receive a Seva Nidhi Package of ₹11.71 Lakh. Up to 25% of the best-performing Agniveers may be selected for enrolment into the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force.

Category 1 – Science Subjects Eligibility:

📝 IAF Agniveervayu 02/2027 – Complete Selection Process
Stage 1 – Online Written Test (INET – IAF Non-Technical Examination)
- Computer Based Online Examination
- Exam Date: 22-23 September 2026
- For Science Category: English, Mathematics, Physics (Reasoning & General Awareness)
- For Other Than Science Category: English, Reasoning & General Awareness
- Minimum qualifying marks as per IAF norms
Stage 2 – Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- 1.6 KM Run in 8 Minutes
- 20 Push-Ups
- 20 Sit-Ups
- 20 Squats
- Qualifying in nature — must pass all components
Stage 3 – Medical Examination
- Comprehensive medical fitness test at IAF designated medical centres
- Vision, physical health, and fitness standards as per IAF norms
- Candidates must meet prescribed standards for Agniveervayu
Stage 4 – Document Verification (DV)
- Verification of original certificates including 10+2 / Diploma Marksheets, Date of Birth proof, Category Certificate, ID proof, etc.
Stage 5 – Merit List & Enrolment
- Final merit list prepared based on combined performance in all stages
- Selected candidates enrolled as Agniveervayu in the Indian Air Force for 4 years
📸 Special Photo Instructions for Agniveervayu Application
The IAF has specific photo requirements for Agniveervayu application:
- Passport-size recent colour photograph — size 10 KB to 50 KB
- Light background (white or light colour) — without headgear (except for Sikhs)
- Candidate must be holding a black slate in front of his/her chest
- Slate must have the candidate’s Name and Date of Photograph Taken written in white chalk in CAPITAL LETTERS
- Front portrait photo — face clearly visible
This is a mandatory requirement — applications with incorrect photo format may be rejected.
